Solution

Explanation of Battery:

  1. A battery consists of two electrodes, a cathode, and an anode.
  2. Inside a battery chemical reaction occurs.
  3. As a result of which electrons flow from the anode to the cathode through an external circuit.
  4. We know that the rate of flow of electrons generates a current.
  5. In order to keep this flowing flowing current charged ions inside the battery flow from cathode to anode.
  6. In this way, a steady current is maintained in the circuit.
  7. If a bulb is connected to the circuit, this steady current passes through it.
  8. As a result, the bulb lights up.

Hence, a battery lights a bulb by converting chemical energy into electric energy.
