Solution

The correct option is A

(11μ1)h1+(11μ2)h2.

The apparent shift of the bottom due to the water is
Refractive index=μ1,μ2
Thickness of the slab= h
Vertical shift=h
μ=hhh

(hh)×μ=h

(μ1)×h=μh

h=(11μ)×h
Hence
x1=(11μ1)h1
and due to the K.oil is
x2=(11μ2)h2.

The total shift = x1+x2
=(11μ1)h1+(11μ2)h2.
