Solution

The correct option is B

The buoyant force exerted by water is equal to 20 N

According to Archimedes Principle, when a body is partially or totally immersed in a liquid, it experiences a buoyant force which is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced. So, when the block is immersed it would experience a buoyant force, which would be equal to the weight of liquid displaced. Here, the weight of the displaced liquid is given 20N. So, buoyant force is equal to 20N.
