The correct option is B 1 L
When 500 mL of water is poured in the beaker which was 14th (One quarter) filled gets 34th (Three quarters) filled.

So, the fraction of the beaker filled with 500 mL water = Three quarters of the beaker - One quarter of the beaker
= Two quarters of the beaker

We know that two quarters is equivalent to one half.

So, the volume of half of the beaker = 500 mL
So, the total volume of the beaker
= 500 × 2
= 1000 mL
= 1 L
