Given: λ=600nm, d = 1.00 mm, D = 2 m

Solution:
For the diffraction at a single slit, the position of minima is given by
dsinθ=nλ
For small value of θ,
sinθθ=yD
dyd=λ or
y=Ddλ
Substituting the values ,we have
y=2×6×1071×103=1.2×103m=1.2mm
Distance between first minima on either side of central side of central maxima=2y=2.4mm.


Hence D is the correct option
