A bike is fitted witha convex mirror of f=40cm. Another bike 5.6m behind is coming with a relative speed of 15m/s. What is the speed of image of second bike ?

we know form mirror formula
1f=1v+1u------(1)
Thus image distance v
1v=1f1u=1u1f(as focal length for convex mirror is-)=15.610.4=135.6=0.43m
Now differentiating (1) with respect to time we get
1u2dudt+(1v2)dvdt=0˙uu2+(˙vv2)=0where˙uand˙vare object and image velocity respectively˙v=(˙uu2)v2=(155.62)0.432=0.088m/s
