A bird perches on a bare high power line, and nothing happens to the bird. A man standing on the ground touches the same line and gets a fatal shock. Why?

The whole body of bird is at same potential so no charge flows through it and hence it does not recieve any shock but if you touch the wire carrying current while standing on ground there is a potential difference developed across your body and it can be dangerous.
