A bird’s nest is 12 feet above the ground. A mole’s den is 12 inches below the ground. What is the difference in height of these two positions?

Hint: 1 Feet = 12 inches

Step 1: Given:-
Distance of bird’s nest from ground = 12 feet
Distance of mole’s den from ground = 12 inches
As the mole’s den is underground so it’s height is considered as negative that is ,
Distance of mole’s den from ground = -12 inches
Step 2: We know that 1 feet = 12 inches
So the Distance of mole’s den from ground = -12 inches = -1 feet.

Difference in height of these two positions
=distance of position of nest – distance of position of den
= 12 feet - ( -1 feet)
= 12feet + 1 feet
= 13 feet

Final Answer: = 12feet
