The correct option is C 50N
Limiting friction is the maximum value of static friction up to which it can resist the motion of an object. Here the value of limiting friction is 80N, so if the applied force is less than 80N then the resisting friction will self adjust according to the applied force. Here the applied force is 50N so the static friction value will also come out to be 50N. Hence option (3) is the correct option.


Since the applied force < Limiting friction
Object will be at rest with static friction = applied force = 50N
