Case 1: When maximum force of 2 N down the plane holds the block at rest.

f=μN=μmgcos30
From the FBD,
2+mgsin30=μmgcos30(1)

Case 2: When maximum force of 10 N up the plane holds the block at rest.

10=mgsin30+μmgcos30
Using equation (1),
so, 10=mg2+2+mg2
mg=8
from (1)
2+8×12=μ×8×32
μ=1283=32
The correct option is (B).
