The correct option is C 10 cm
At the time of maximum compression velocities of both the blocks will be same (say V)

By conservation of linear momentum,
2×1=4V
V=0.5 m/s
By conservation of energy,
12m1v21=12(m1+m2)(V)2+12kx2
12×2×12=12×4×(0.5)2+12×100×x2x=0.1 m=10 cm
