A block of iron has dimensions 2 m×0.5 m×0.25 m. The density of iron is 7.8 gcm3 . Find the mass of block.

Open in App
Solution

Given,
[Since 1 gcm3=1000 kgm3 ]
Density of iron, d=7.8 gcm3=7.8×1000 kgm3=7800 kgm3 And
dimension is 2 m×0.5m×0.25 m
So, Volume of the block, V=2 m×0.5 m×0.25 m=0.25 m3
Using formula of density,
Density(d)=mass(m)volume(V)
7800 kgm3=mass(m)0.25 m3
mass=7800×0.25=1950 kg
So, mass of the block (m) = 1950 𝑘g
