Given ; m1=0.5 kg, u1=2.0 m/s, m2=1.0 kg and u2=0 m/s
Since both the mass move as a single body after collision, so it is a perfectly inelastic collision.
Loss in kinetic energy is a perfectly inelastic collision is given by ΔK.E=12m1m2m1+m2(u1u2)2
ΔK.E=12(0.5)(1.0)(0.5+1.0)(2.00)2=0.67 J
