Question

A block of mass 2 kg lying on another block of mass 5 kg the whole system moves upward with acceleration 5 m/s² . Find the force exerted by 5 kg block on the floor.

Open in App
Solution

5 kg block will apply a friction force on the floor.
friction force = u * m * g
value of u(coeffiecient of friction) is not given.
friction force = u * m * g = u* (5+2) * g (g= gravity= 10m/s^2)
friction force = u * m * g = u* (5+2) * g = u* 7*10 = u* 70
we can not solve it further as value of u is not given. so some data is missing in this problem.
