A block of mass 5 kg is placed on horizontal surface and a pushing force 20 N is acting on back as shown in figure. If coefficient of friction between block and surface is 0.2, calculate frictional force an speed of block after 15 s.

Given,

Coefficient of friction, μ=0.2

Mass of block, M=5kg

Friction force, Fr=μ(mg+Fsin45)=0.2×(5×9.8+202)=12.63 N

Net force, Fnet=Fcos45Fr=20212.63=1.5 N

Acceleration, a=Fnetm=1.55=0.3 ms2

Apply kinematic equation of motion

V=U+at=0+1.55×15=4.5 ms1

Final velocity is 4.5 ms1
