Work Done against Gravity

Question
A block of mass 5kg is lifted vertically upwards to a height of 1.5m at a constant speed.
What is the work done by the applied force
Open in App
Solution
Work done = Mass x Acceleration due to gravity x height to which it is raised.
m=5kg
g= 9.8m/s
h=1.5m
Here W = m x g x h
=5 x 9.8 x 1.5
= 73.5J
