A block of mass m is placed on a horizontal surface. If the bock is pulled by applying a force of magnitude F = 5 mg at an angle $\theta ={37}^{\circ }$ with horizontal as shown in fig. 6.29, find the acceleration of the block at the given instant.

Horizontal component of F: $F\cos {37}^{\circ }=5mg\times 0.80=4mg$

$F=ma$

$a=\frac{4mg}{m}=4g$
