Question

A block of mass m slides down the plane inclined at an angle 60 with an acceleration g2. Find the coefficient of kinetic friction?

Open in App
Solution

At an inclined normal force on the block or surface is
N=mgcos60=mg2
also, friction, Fk=μk×N
Fk=μk×mg2
Force responsible for downward motion of block is mgsinθ
Fnet=mgsinθμmgcosθ
or mg(sinθμcosθ)=m×g2
sinθμcosθ=12
or 3μ2=12
or μ=31=0.73
