A blood vessel that starts and ends with a capillary is called _________
Portal vein
A portal vein is a blood vessel which starts and ends with capillaries. Veins starting from intestines and stomach are portal veins since they do not empty directly into the posterior vena cava. They enter the liver first and divide into capillaries and then unite into a new vein which is now called a hepatic vein. Hepatic vein empties into the posterior vena cava.
