Net drift velocity v=vr+vbcosθ
=vR+(vRn)cosθ=vR(1+cosθn)
velocity along y axis vy=vbsinθ
w=vbsinθ.t
t=wvbsinθ
d=vR(1+cosθn)wvbsinθ=w[n cosecθ+cotθ]
For minimum drift d(d)dx=0
[n cosecθcotθcosec2θ]=0
cosθ=1n;θ=π2+sin1(1n)
