Velocity of boat w.r.t ground is given as
For upstream:
vbg=vb^i+(vw^i)=(vbvw)^i
Speed of boat upstream =vbvw
For downstream:
vbg=vb^i+(vw^i)=(vb+vw)^i
Speed of boat downstream=(vb+vw)

distance covered upstream
=distance covered downstream
(vbvw)×7=(vb+vw)×4
7vb7vw=4vb+4vw
