The correct option is A8:3 Let the boat's speed while running upstream be xkmph and that downstream be ykmph.
Then, distance covered while running upstream in 8 hours 48 minutes = Distance covered while running downstream in 4 hours ⇒x×(8+4860)=y×4 ⇒x×445=y×4 ⇒y=11x5 ∴ Required ratio =(y+x2):(y−x2) =16x2×12:6x2×12 =8:3
