The correct option is B 1003C
According to Newton's law of cooling,
T1T2t=α(T1+T22T0),
where, body cools from temperature T1 to T2 in time t at surrounding temperature T0 and α is heat transfer coefficient.
So, for first 5 minutes,
50405=α(50+40220)
α=225 min1
Now, for next 5 minutes,
40T5=225×(40+T220)
2005T=40+T40
On solving it, we get
T=1003 C
