The correct option is B 4 sec
Let's say it takes n sec to reach the ground.

Since it is dropped so u=0

Distance covered in 1st second is x.

Using kinematics relation

s=ut+12gt2

Putting the value of given parameters

x =0+12g(1)2=g2 ........(1)

Similarly, distance in nth (last) second is

7x=u+12g(2n1)

7x=12g(2n1) ....(2)

From Eqs. (1) and (2),

7=2n1

n=4 seconds

Hence, option (b) is the correct answer.
