A body immersed in a liquid appears lighter than it really is. Explain.

Any object immersed into the water or any liquid experiences an upward force which is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it . This upward force is called buoyant force. Therefore the object is lighter when it is inside the water than it is outside .
