Question

A body, initially at rest, starts moving with a constant acceleration 2 m/s2 . Calculate the distance travelled in 5s.

Given,
As the body starts from rest,
So, Initial Velocity, u=0 m/s
Constant acceleration, a=2 m/s2
Time, t=5 s
For constant acceleration we have the equation,
S=ut+12at2S=0 m/s×5sec+(12×2 m/s2×(5sec)2)S=25 m

Hence distance travelled in 5sec is 25 m.
