Question

A body is fully immersed in the water. What can increase of pressure exerted on the bottom surface of the body?

Open in App
Solution

Pressure on a body at a depth h is:
P=Patm+ρgh

Patm: atmospheric pressure,
g: acceleration due to gravity
ρ: density of water

We can conclude from the above equation that increasing atmospheric pressure, height and density of water will increase the pressure on the surface of the body. Changing the density of body itself will not affect the pressure.
