The correct option is C. 5.5 m/s.

If initial velocity be u and the acceleration be a then the distance covered in first 5s will be given by the second equation of motion, s=ut+(1/2)at2, we get

S5=u(5)+a(5)22=40m........(1) (Given)

and the distance in first 10s will be,
S10=u(10)+a(10)22
so the distance between time t=5s to t=10 will be
S5=S10S5=65m ...........(2) (Given)
Putting corresponding values and solving the equation-1 and equation-2 we get u=5.5 m/s.
Thus, option (C) is correct.
