Question

A body moves in a circle of radius 2r what is the distance covered and displacement of body after 2 complete rounds

Open in App
Solution

a)The distance covered is the path length of the object. So after two rounds, the total distance covered by the body is two times the circumference of the circular path.

Distance = 2*circumference = 2*2π(2R) = 8πR

b)Displacement is the difference between the initial and final position of the object. So no matter how many rounds it makes, the displacement is zero, because the initial and final position of the object are same.
