Given:
Mass, m=2kg,
height, h=5m,
initial velocity, u=0ms1 and
acceleration due to gravity g=10ms2.
Potential energy of the body, P=mgh
2×5×10=100 J.
The potential energy becomes zero near ground and converts to kinetic energy of the body. Also, the body would attain the maximum kinetic energy just before it strikes the ground.
Hence, Kinetic energy = 100 J.
