Given:
Mass of the body, m=5 kg
Intial velocity, u=20 ms1.
We know that v2=u2+2as
Here, displacement of the body, s=0, acceleration, g=9.8 ms2
Velocity of the body just before hitting the ground, v2=202+2×(9.8)×(0)
v=202
Since upward direction is taken as positive, v=20 ms1
We know, momentum, p=mv=5×(20)=100 kgms1.
