Given mass m = 5 kg and initial velocity v = 20ms−1
The velocity of the ball just before hitting the ground will be equal to the initial velocity of the ball but in downwards direction.
So, Linear momentum p = m×v
p = 5 x (-20) = -100 kgms−1
