Question

A body rotates about fixed axis with an angular acceleration of 3 rad/s2. Through what angle does it rotate during the time in which its angular velocity increases from 15 rad/s to 45 rad/s ?

Solution

It is given that the body rotates with constant angular acceleration α=3 rad/s2 and initial angular velocity ω0=15 rad/s and final angular velocity ω=45 rad/s

Using equation of motion under constant angular acceleration

ω2=ω20+2αθ
θ=ω2ω202α=4521522×3

θ=20252252×3

θ=300 rad
Hence option A is the correct answer.
