As the body takes 4 s to reach the bottom from the top, let the distance covered by it be l.

Using 2nd equation of kinematics:
s=ut+12at2, here u=0, s=l
l=12a(4)2
a=l/8

Now lets say, body takes t time to cover one-fourth distance from the top. Then,
l4=12a(t)2
l4=12.l8.(t)2
(t)2=4
t=2 s
