The correct option is A $2 m / s^{2}$
Given,
Body starts from rest so, $u = 0 m / s$
$s = 16 m, t_{1} = 4 s$

$s^{'} = 9 m, t_{2} = 3 s$

The displacement in $4^{t h}$ sec,
$s_{4} = s - s^{'}$

$s_{4} = 16 - 9 = 7 m$

The distance covered in $n^{t h}$ second,
$s_{n} = u + \frac{a}{2} (2 n - 1)$

$s_{4} = 0 + \frac{a}{2} (8 - 1)$

$7 = \frac{7 a}{2}$

$a = 2 m / s^{2}$
