A body starts with an initial velocity of 10 $m s^{- 1}$ and acceleration 5 $m s^{- 2}$ .Find the distance covered by the body in 5 s.

Initial velocity u = 10 m/s
Acceleration a = 5 m/s²
Time t = 5s
Let ‘S’ be the distance covered.
Using the second equation of motion,
S = ut + (1/2) at²
S = (10)(5) + (1/2) (5) (5)²
S = 50 + 62.5
S = 112.5 m
