Solution

Bone:

  1. Bone tissue contains both organic material and inorganic material.
  2. The organic material comprises fibers made of collagen protein and the inorganic material contains salts of calcium and magnesium (mainly phosphates)
  3. As hydrochloric acid is a strong acid, the minerals like calcium phosphate dissolve in the concentrated acid.
  4. The organic material that is collagen is left behind.
