Solution

The correct option is A 5 : 8
For person A,
C.P = ₹ 600
S.P = ₹ 400
Loss = C.PS.P
Loss = 500 300 = 200
Loss% = LossC.P×100
= 200500×100
= 40%
For person B,
C.P = ₹ 800
S.P = ₹ 600
Loss = C.PS.P
Loss = 800600=200
Loss% = LossC.P×100
= 200800×100
= 25%

So, the ratio of loss% of B to that of A is,
BA = 2540
BA = 58
B:A = 5:8
