Dear Student,

There are 30 apples and 40 oranges Rotten apples=12×30=15Rotten oranges=12×40=20If two items are picked let A be the event of getting both items rottenP(A)=C235C270 =1769let B be the event of getting both items applesP(B)= C230C270=29161 P(AB)=1570now, probability that either choosen items are rotten or both are apples:P(AB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AB) =1769+29161-1570 =205966
