Solution

Box I:2 Silver coins +4 gold coins
Box II:4 Silver coins +3 gold coins
Let E1 be the event of selecting a gold coin from box I
and E2 be the event of selecting a gold coin from box II.
A: Probability of gold coin
P(E1)=6C4 P(E2)=7C3
P(A/E1)=P(A/E2)=12
P(E/E1)=P(E1)P(A/E1)P(E1)P(A/E1)P(E2)P(A/E2)
=6C4×1/26C4×1/2+7C3×1/2
=7.57.5+17.5
=0.34
Hence, the answer is 0.34
