A box contains Rs. 56 in the form of coins of one rupee, 50 paise and 25 paise. The number of 50 paise coins is double the number of 25 paise coins and four times the number of one rupee coins.
How many 50 paise coins are their in the box ?
The answer is 64.
Solution:
Assume the number of 1 rupees coin to be x.
Number of 25 paise is 2x
Then, the number of 50 paise is 4x.
The box contains 56 rupees ie. 5600 paise
Therefore equation is 100x+(50×4x)+(25×2x)=5600
100x+200x+50x=5600
350x=5600
x=5600350
x=16
Number of 50 paise coin is 4x=16×4=64.
The answer is 64.
