Total number of socks in the box is = 4.
On picking out one white sock, number of socks remaining in the box is =3 (2 black socks and 1 white sock)

$\therefore$ P (picking another sock to make it a pair) $=\frac{1}{3}$

So, option (c) is the correct answer.
