The correct option is A 850 m
The speed of the sound, distance travelled and the time taken relationship is given as follows.
Speedofsound=DistancetravelledTimetaken

From this equation the Distance traveled is derived as

Distancetravelled=Speedofsound×Timetaken

That is, Distancetraveled=340m/s×2.5seconds
=850meters.
Hence distance between boys is 850 m
