Let the original cost of each book =Rs. x

It is given that, money has enough to buy 20 books.

Total money near the boy =Rs. 20x

It is given that, If each book costs 25 paise less,then will buy two more books and still have 70 paise left.

20×x=22(x0.25)+0.70

20x=22x5.5+0.70
20x22x=4.8

2x=4.8

x=2.4

Therefore, Original cost of each book =Rs. 2.40.

Money with the boy =20×Rs. 2.40=Rs. 48
Hence, Option C. is correct.
