If vertically upwards direction is taken as positive axis, then
h=500 m,a=g=10 m/s2,
u=0,h=ut+12at2

500=05×t2t=10 s

The second stone is thrown 3 seconds later, hence time taken for second stone to reach the ground is 109=7 s.

h=ut+12gt2500=u×75×727u=5005×49u=36.43 m/s
