Solution

The correct option is C t1t2t2+t1
Let L be the length of the escalator.

When only boy is walking,

vb=Lt1

And when only escalator is moving,

vesc=Lt2

Now let t be the time taken by boy to walk up on the moving escalator.

t=Lvb+vesc=L(L/t1)+(L/tesc)

t=t1t2t1+t2

Hence, option (C) is correct.
