From the data given in the question, mirrors are at 60 to each other.

To find the number of images formed by the system of plane mirrors,

we find, 360θ=36060=6 (even number)

It is given that the object is placed on the angular bisector.

Number of images formed by the system of plane mirrors =360θ1=61=5

Hence, option (a) is the correct answer.
Point to remember:- The virtual image formed by a plane mirror must not be in front of the mirror or its extension.
