Given that,

P1=2 atm; P2=0.5 atm; V1=V and V2=(V+0.5)L

P2V2=P1V1 (When temperture is constant P1/V)

0.5(0.5+V)=2×V

0.25+0.5V=2V

1.5V=0.25

V=0.251.5=0.17L

Hence, the correct option is C.
