Question

A bullet is fired from a rifle. As a resultt the rifle recoils. The kinetic energy of the rifle as compared to the bullet is less.Why??

Solution

Recoil equation,
mv=MV(equal momentum by law of conservation of momentum)
m=mass of bullet
v=velocity of bullet
M=mass of rifle
V=velocity of rifle
From that we can assume recoil velocity of rifle will be negligible comparing to velocity of bullet because mass of bullet is very less comparing to mass of rifle.
Because of low velocity,kinetic energy will also be less ...
