A bullet of m...
Question
A bullet of mass 7 gm is fired into a block of metal weighing 7 kg. The block is free to move. Calculate the initial velocity of the bullet if the velocity of the block with the bullet in it is 0.7m/sec
Open in App
Solution
By considering the conservation of momentum
m1*V1 = (m1+m2)*v
finding V1,after substuting the values
m1= 7g
m2=7000g
v=0.7 m/s
7*V1 = (7000+7)*0.7
V1 = 7007*0.7/7
we get V1=700.7 m/s
